Organic SEO 101 | What Are Keywords And How Do They Help Your Organic SEO?

Start By Finding Your Keywords And Keyword Phrases To Get Your Business Found Online

So what is a keyword? If we start from the perspective of a searcher, a keyword is a search term that you type in:

  • any search engine such as Google
  • any social media site such as Facebook or YouTube
  • any place online where you can enter words and hit the search button.

A keyword phrase consists of two or more words that you type any place online where you can enter words and hit the search button.

Often when you’re just beginning your research into a product or service, you may type in just one keyword, usually a generic word relating to your search. In other words, you’re just browsing at this stage.

Later, when you’ve decided that you want some more specific information about this product or service, perhaps even to check its availability in your location, and/or to compare prices, you are more likely to type in multiple words (keyword phrases) to produce more specific search results. At this stage you are likely to be seriously considering buying a product or service.

That’s why we have the catchphrase:

  • short keywords = browser
  • long keywords = buyers

Organic SEO Starts With The Right Keywords and Keyword Phrases

What’s so important about keywords and how do they boost your organic SEO?

Now let’s look at keywords, keyword phrases from your perspective as a business owner seeking to get your business found online. If you use your carefully chosen keywords and keyword phrases in the right way and in the right places, then you will make it much easier for your potential customers to find your website in the wilderness that is the World Wide Web.

Choosing the keywords and keyword phrases that will get your website found presents one of your greatest challenges to taking your business online, and the biggest mistake you can make when it comes to keywords is guessing, or copying the keywords from a competitor’s site.

When we first started developing websites for clients we did all our keyword research manually with Google’s free keyword research tool, and it took hours for each and every site. Now we save significant amounts of both time and money with Market Samurai software. You can trial this keyword analysis tool FREE. The software is supported by first rate video education to help you get the most out of this multi-faceted keyword research tool.

In my next post I’ll expose the relationship between keywords and organic SEO and how to leverage them both to get your business found online.

Organic SEO Technology Tip 4 – Marketing Maximizer Pages Intensify Your Online Presence

Online Marketing Pages | Video

Boosting your marketing results with different types of web pages

How many different types of web page could you use in your online marketing?

  • Sales pages
  • Coupons or special offers for your offline store
  • PPC (pay per click) landing pages
  • Soft landing pages
  • Registration pages for webinars or other events, online or offline
  • Tightly focused squeeze pages
  • One time offer pages
  • And so on… basically any page where you want your visitors to take a specific action

With a truly integrated hubsite software system you can optimize every type of page for organic SEO.

The biggest mistake most beginners make with their first website is to confuse the purpose of each type of page.

Confused Man | Organic SEO Technology boosted by video made with this tiny camera

One purpose per page will boost your online marketing

We humans can be very quirky creatures when it comes to making choices. On the one hand we demand the freedom to choose from a range of alternatives, and on the other hand we become confused and even stressed when confronted with too many choices and end up making no choice at all. And that’s exactly why visitors to many websites leave without signing up for a newsletter, watching a valuable video, or making a purchase – too many choices.

How to help your website visitors to take action

Here’s a quick rundown on just four page types and their purpose:

  • Soft landing page: example www.HubSiteBuilder.com
    • Purpose: to convince you to give me your name and email address in exchange for a valuable Consumer Guide that will help you choose a great website developer. Your subscription form should be very prominently displayed – more than once on the page.
  • Specialized high-converting Social Media landing page: example www.HubSiteBuilder.com/twitter.php
    • Purpose: to create rapport with my Twitter followers who come to check out my HubSite Builder site. Again, your subscription form should be very prominently displayed – more than once on the page.
  • One time offer page (OTO).
    • Purpose: to make a very special offer that will not be available again when the same visitor returns to that same page. This builds trust, by showing your visitors that your offers are genuine and that you are not using false scarcity tactics. It also rewards action takers, and let’s face it, we all want action takers for clients.
  • Squeeze page: as the name implies, this type of page is designed to focus your attention on one thing, usually a sales letter, and gives you no options to leave the page via tabs, links or back buttons. The only way you can escape the squeeze is to close the page, and quite often when you attempt to do so, a form or message will pop up, asking if you ‘re sure you want to leave.

Organic SEO Technology | Marketing MaximiZer Pages

In summary, for each page you create on your site you want to be very clear about what action you want your visitors to take as a result of visiting that page, and then make it as easy as possible for them to make the decision and take that action.

The bottom line is that when you are planning your site, you want to make sure that the software that you or your website developer will be using is part of an integrated system that is technologically capable of providing you with the varying functions you need to create different pages for different purpose. The last thing you want is to have to pay a programmer every time you want a different type of page created.

So, how capable is your website of generating different types of web pages to boost your online presence?

Organic SEO Technology Tip 3 – 5 Social Media Mobilizers To Connect You With Your Tribe

Stimulate Organic SEO With THE Most Social of Media – Video

Get the Flash Player to see this player.

Video – part of the most effective marketing channel for small business owners in history

If you’re anything like I am, an ordinary business owner with (in my case) a very ordinary appearance, then you may have been avoiding putting yourself in front of a camera to make videos for your site. If that’s true for you, then I’m here to tell you in no uncertain terms – get over it! You’re missing the marketing boat!

How video boosts your online presence with organic SEO

The startling fact is that a properly keyword optimized video has a 53 times greater chance of showing up on the first page of Google search results than the same content in a regular blog post or web page! At the time of writing this article, YouTube is second in search engine usage only to Google, and as Google owns YouTube, don’t you think they use similar ranking criteria?

When your visitors can see your face and body language, in addition to hearing your voice, they begin to feel like they know you, and that feeling is the start of developing trust and rapport. Research reveals that we buy from people we feel we know, like and trust, so if you want your your blog readers to eventually become customers, then you want to help them get to know you.

3 tips for making videos

  • You don’t need a fancy camera! I use my Canon Ixus 80IS digital camera that takes short videos and a very inexpensive tripod. You could also use a Flip video camera. Do NOT use a high definition camera as it will take up too much bandwidth on your website. You just need to check (in your camera handbook, or at your local camera retailer) that your camera records video at 30 frames per second.

Organic SEO Technology boosted by video made with this tiny camera

  • Plan what you will say and show on your video. Start your plan with what you want your viewer to do or learn by the end of the video, then work backwards from that to create an outline of your script that will flow naturally from start to finish.
  • Batch process the scripting and shooting of your videos. What that means is, make several videos in the one session. This has many advantages – good time management by setting up your equipment once, building your confidence as you proceed through the session, and generating a sense of flow and continuity in your scripts, which your viewers will appreciate.

HubSite Builder’s top 5 tips for easy video hosting and distribution to your tribe

How capable is your website of mobilizing social media to boost your online presence via video?

Scripting and shooting your video is one challenge, how to leverage your videos for organic seo is another, and the best website software will have integrated technology to purge the pain from the next step in the process – hosting and sharing your videos with your tribe.

HubSite Builder’s top 5 video sharing tips:

  1. Host your videos on your own site so you maintain control over distribution and viewing. Keyword optimize your title and description, and place a link to your site close to the front of your description.
  2. Boost your online presence by submitting your videos to multiple video sharing sites with set and forget software.
  3. Save time, energy and money with built in software, that with just 3 simple clicks, will upload the video you have created in any standard video file format and convert it into universal flash for you.
  4. Customize your video with your own brand, further developing your business website’s online presence. To achieve this you want to customize your video player, add your branded watermark, and choose your own preview image.
  5. Get your viewers to take the action YOU want them to take when they finish viewing your video, by redirecting them to the page you want them to visit next – the next video in a series, an optin form, or a sales page – you want to have the power to choose.

So, how capable is your website of mobilizing social media to boost your online presence via video?

Organic SEO Technology Tip 2 – Integrate A Business Booster Blog With Your Websiteite

Previous Organic SEO Technology Tips:

  1. Organic SEO Technology Tip #1

Is your blog 100% integrated with your website? If you answered YES to that question, you possibly have a genuine Business Booster Blog.

If your answer was NO, you may find that your website is struggling to win the online presence your small business deserves.

It’s not your fault, even though you and your business may be bearing the brunt of the mistakes or misdemeanors of unscrupulous or uniformed web designers; web designers who have failed to develop an integrated systems approach to developing your website’s online presence.

3 ways an integrated business booster blog builds your online presence

As a business owner who desires to establish a powerful online presence, your goal is to attract visitors to your website, connect with them as real people, with real needs and with real desires for useful information and assistance, then convert them into paying customers.

A blog that is fully integrated as part of your website system boosts your online presence and your business in three ways:

  1. Attracts visitors to your site by making your website easy to find in the search engines. Regularly posting fresh content and articles to your blog provides not only fresh mind food for your readers, but also fresh indexing food for search engine spiders, pushing your site higher on the engine results pages – Google, Yahoo and so on. If your blog is set up using integrated and organic SEO technology like the site is, many internal and external links (feasts for search engines spiders) are created automatically every time you make a new blog post.
  2. Helps you to connect to your blog readers, especially if you use video and audio both of which encourage easy engagement with you and your content. If you also invite your readers to interact with you and each other by posting comments and asking questions in the comments box below each post,  so long as your content is relevant to your readers you will quickly build a loyal tribe of followers who will come to know, like and trust you.
  3. Smooths the process of converting visitors to customers. While we all desire a loyal tribe of followers, fans will only ever boost our egos and not in our business bottom line. When you have built rapport and trust with your followers through the quality of the information you provide them in your posts, and opportunities to interact with you through social media, it becomes relatively easy to offer loyal tribe additional resources that they can purchase from a website that is obviously part of your integrated blog and website system.

Organic SEO Technology Tip 1 – Start With An Integrated Website Builder System

Organic SEO Starts With Your Website Technology

If you want to create a powerful online presence for your small business, then you also want to start with the end in mind by making sure you leverage not only the right knowledge and skills, but also the right, integrated system. What do I mean by an integrated system?

A quick video explanation of an integrated system…

Get the Flash Player to see this player.

A system then, is a set of interacting or interdependent elements forming an integrated whole. And you need all of the elements or parts of your website system working together to achieve your online marketing goals.

Your #1 goal for your small business website

The purpose of your website is to establish a powerful online presence for your small business. To do that your website needs to achieve these targets:

  1. Get noticed by searchers. To get noticed by searchers your business website needs to
  2. Achieve high search engine rankings. To get high search engine rankings your website must
  3. Have every element of your business website keyword optimized.

The smartest way to keyword optimize your small business website in order to develop a powerful online presence is to leverage an integrated system. Remember in the video when I spoke about systems having structure, behavior, and inter-connectivity? You want to make sure that each and every element of your site is part of an integrated whole, structured so that an input into one part of your system interacts with other parts of the system, resulting in multiple outputs without you investing additional time or energy. How cool is that?

What does an integrated website builder system look like?

HubSiteBuilder.com was built using an integrated SEO system that leverages organic SEO technology.

The four main modules or pillars of an integrated SEO system are:

  1. SEO optimized website builder software – provides the basic platform to leverage organic SEO technology to create a powerful online presence for your small business
  2. A business booster blog – allows for fresh updated, keyword phrase optimized content to attract search engine spiders to your blog and website pages
  3. Social media mobilization capability – automatically notifies social sites, including video sharing sites of your latest blog posts and videos
  4. Online marketing maximizer – allows you to create an endless variety of website pages that build rapport and trust with your visitors.

Those four modules each have literally dozens of inbuilt features that optimize organic SEO using your keywords and keyword phrases. The major advantage of an integrated website builder system is its ability to simplify your input of time and energy and at the same time magnify your online presence.

Your biggest barrier to getting noticed and being found online is not having and leveraging an integrated system to build your online presence.

In my next post in the series of organic SEO technology tips I’ll reveal several reasons why you want a business booster blog integrated with your website builder system to maximize the online presence of your small business. Finally – Organic SEO Technology For Your Small Business Website

Introducing organic SEO technology that really works

G’day from Sydney Australia,

Karyn Clarke here and I’m delighted to welcome you to HubSiteBuilder.com If you are a small business owner who is feeling confused, frustrated, or ripped off by an existing website that fails to use the right seo technology to get the high search engine ranking that your business deserves, then you are in the right place to get the information you want in order to make a more informed decision for your first or next website.

Take a quick look at this 3 minute video as an introduction to the power of leveraging the right technology to boost your small business profits, then read on for a more detailed explanation …

Finally – Organic SEO Technology For Your Small Business

Get the Flash Player to see this player.

Why you want organic SEO technology for your small business

First, a quick explanation of what I mean by organic SEO technology:

  1. SEO stands for search engine optimization. Understandably you want your business website to show up on the first search results page in Google or other search engine, when potential customers or clients enter the keywords that match your business. However, when it comes to websites, you probably realize that the old adage of ‘build it and they will come’ is an empty promise. ‘They’ (your potential customers and clients) will only come as a result of tactics that leverage the power of technology as part of your overall marketing strategy. To get your website on the first results page you want to optimize your site for high search engine ranking.
  2. Search engines such as Google use complex algorithms to rank websites on the search pages. You can pay Google to give your small business website a high ranking on the right-hand side of the page using what is known as PPC (pay per click) advertising. This is one form of search engine optimization and can be useful to test your keywords, but it has two major downsides:

a) your costs can get out of hand very quickly
b) research shows that 75% of people doing Internet searches will click on the left-hand side of the results page (organic seo) and only 25% will click on the right-hand (paid seo) side of the page.

Example of organic and paid SEO results for keyword phrase ’seo technology’

HubSite Builder - Example of Organic SEO Image

Search engine optimization defined

Wikipedia gives this explanation of search engine optimization

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume or quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via “natural” or unpaid (”organic” or “algorithmic”) search results as opposed to search engine marketing (SEM) which deals with paid inclusion. Typically, the earlier (or higher) a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, video search and industry-specific vertical search engines. This gives a web site web presence.”

So your very first goal for your business website is to optimize your site for high organic search engine ranking. To achieve this your website needs to leverage the latest knowledge and developments in organic SEO technology. I want to be clear about what I mean by the word “technology“.

Technology defined

Dictionary.com defines technology as “The specific methods, materials, and devices used to solve practical problems.”

The most pressing practical problem that most business owners have with their websites is how to get high organic search engine placement, and how to get it FAST! And that’s why this website exists … you can read more about why this website was established here, but the short answer is that HubSiteBuilder.com has been set up to give you access to the specific methods, materials and devices that you want to solve the practical problem of getting high organic search engine ranking!

Organic SEO Simplified

Hubsite Builder - Organic SEO Technology ModelOne of the purposes of this blog is to provide you with high quality information and educational resources that support your quest for peak performance and profits in your business, with you website being a key component of your business.
